Dr. Gennadiy Grigoryan, M.D., FACOG
As Chief of Gynecology Dr. Grigoryan specializes in surgical treatment of various forms of gynecologic problems and has vast experience in performing complex gynecologic surgeries.
Dr. Grigoryan is a highly respected physician with considerable clinical and research experience. Having originally completed his OB/GYN training in Moscow, Russia in 1986, he subsequently pursued a Doctorate degree and served as an Assistant Professor and Chief of the Gynecology service at the Moscow Medical Academy.
Dr. Grigoryan completed his residency from St. Vincent’s Hospital in 2004 and is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at New York Medical College. He is fluent in Armenian and Russian.
Zhanna Fridel, MD, FACOG
Dr. Zhanna Fridel joined our team in May of 2009. She came from Lenox Hill Hospital with 5 years of experience in a busy private practice. Dr. Fridel obtained her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine in 2000. She completed her residency in OB/GYN from Lenox Hill Hospital in 2004. She is Board Certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2006. She is fluent in Russian and proficient in Spanish.
Dr. Fridel’s interests include teaching the residents, delivering babies, laparoscopy and educating new moms about breastfeeding. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband and 3 children.
Michael Napoli, MD, FACOG
Dr. Napoli is a well-respected physician with more than 30 years experience in practicing obstetrics and gynecology. He served as Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology at North Shore University Hospital at Forest Hills before coming to St. Vincent’s Hospital.
A graduate of Creighton University School of Medicine in Nebraska, Dr. Napoli completed his residency at Nassau Hospital, now known as Winthrop University Hospital. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University School of Medicine and is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
Vanessa Valerie Peña, MD
Dr. Peña came to St Vincent’s in 2004, where she has been involved in all aspects of women’s healthcare with a particular interest in obstetrical patients. She has been active in international education programs, teaching both physicians and patients. Dr Peña values a strong doctor/patient relationship in which the patient feels comfortable expressing her concerns and healthcare needs. She completed her residency at St Vincent’s Hospital and now serves as a clinical assistant at New York Medical College. She is eligible for board certification and is a Junior Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
